The 23 year old who becomes Paul Le Guen's second signing during the ongoing transfer after Cristian Tarouco, took to his Twitter handle to wish Gent and their fans well ahead of the new campaign.
"I would like to say a big thank you to all the fans of @KAAGent for supporting me in my short time with the club,"the Super Eagles of Nigeria defender wrote via his handle, @wtroostekong.
"I wish you all the best in the coming season, in the league and playing in Europe."
"I enjoyed playing in front of you in the Ghelamco Arena. Thank you Buffalos!."
Troost-Ekong made eight appearances in all competition for Gent in six months after returning from a two year loan deal at Norwergian side Haugesund where he was the club's captain.
