It was not a too pleasant finishing for Team Nigeria table tennis on the final day of the 11th All African Games here in Congo Brazzaville.
This followed the failure of Nigeria's Aruna Quadri to overcome his Egyptian arch-rival, Assar Omar, in the men's singles final at the Indoor Sports Hall of Revolution Centre, Congo Brazzaville.
Quadri who had earlier qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil, was beaten 4-1 by the Egyptian in the men'singles final decided on Saturday.
The defeat meant Quadri returned home with the silver medal in the event.
It was also a moment of frustration for Nigeria in the women's singles as bright hope, Funke Oshonaike was edged in the semi-finals, but managed to win the third-place game, to take home the bronze medal.
