–Three foreign based players report to Abuja camp

Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles are expected to jet out of the country on Thursday for the All Africa Games qualifier against Gabon this weekend, Complete Sports can report.
The match slated for this weekend is the team’s first outing in the competition since Coach Samson Siasia was given the mandate by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to handle the team.
Complete Sports check in the team’s Abuja camp on Sunday confirmed that among the foreign based players invited for the encounter, only three players have reported while others are expected to report in camp today.
Speaking ahead of the match, Siasia said the players are in good shape and looking forward to the qualifying match.
“Every one of the players is doing well, we have been having our training and they are all looking forward to the match. This is our first outing in the All Africa Games qualifiers and we really need to go there and do our best because the first game matters a lot,” says the soccer tactician
Also speaking to Complete Sports about the team’s preparation for the match is the team’s media officer, Timi Ibikagboro who said the players are preparing hard to ensure they win the away match.
“Well, I can only tell you that the players are in good shape and also preparing hard to be in their best form for the match. They are looking forward to it and with the support of every Nigerian, I am sure that they will not disappoint,” he said.
“Already, some of the foreign based players invited have reported and we are expecting others from Monday morning,” he said.
