UCL: Ambrose Vows To Justify Second Chance With Celtic

Efe Ambrose has said his Scottish club Celtic will make the most of their chance after they were reinstated in the UEFA Champions League following the disqualification of Legia Warsaw of Poland.

Celtic lost first leg 4-1 at away, but were awarded three goals in the second leg at home to go through on the away goals’ rule after aggregate scores stood at 4-4.

Ambrose was already going to seek consolation in the Europa League, before a UEFA decision that Legia fielded an ineligible player for the return leg match in Scotland.

The Nigeria international defender told AfricanFootball.com his team will grab the second chance handed to them.

“What can I say than to thank God? It was divine intervention that saw us back in the Champions League,” he said.

“We will take our chance and utilise this second chance to the fullest.”

Celtic will now battle Slovenian champions Maribor for a place in the group phase of the Champions League.
