Nigerian stars Emmanuel Emenike, Aaron Samuel, John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme have great chances of playing in this season's UEFA Champions League group stages after their clubs got decent fixtures in Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Israeli champions Hapoel Be'er Sheva that parade Ogu and Nwakaeme have been drawn against Maribor of Slovenia, while ex-Super Eagles striker Emenike and his new Greek club Olympiacos will face Croatia's Rijeka in the play-offs.
Samuel and CSKA Moscow will square off against Switzerland's Young Boys.
Five-time winners of the UEFA Champions League Liverpool were drawn against Bundesliga club Hoffeinheim; Celtic, who won the competition in 1967, will face a
Kazakhstan's FC Astana, while former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor and his Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir will tackle LaLiga outfit Sevilla.
In other fixtures, Nice with Mario Balotelli will face Napoli, Cyprus' Apoel Nicosia and Slavia Praha of Czech Republic will do battle, Qarabag of Azerbaijan meet Denmark's Copenhagen, and Portugal's Sporting Lisbon face Romania's FC FCSB.
The first legs come up on 15/16 August and the second legs will be played in 22/23 August, 2017.
