Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze, has advised Manchester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho to consider the possibility of a move to a club outside the English Premier League, especially German Bundesliga and Spanish LA Liga, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Speaking exclusively to Completesportsnigeria.com on Tuesday, the onetime West Bromwich Albion left-back says there are clubs in another leagues that can aid the former youth international who on Monday was guest at the Imo State Government House programme on rapid development.
"Kelechi (Iheanacho) is not match fit and it showed in the game against South Africa in that Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo," Udeze told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"He has not played a lot of football, and so needs where he will do that on a regular basis. People have considered clubs like West Ham United and Leicester City as good alternatives.
"However, I want to differ and suggest he considers teams in the German Bundesliga or Spanish La liga.
"Pep Guardiola feels Kelechi will not give him what Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus will. If the transfer rumours circulating are to be believed, West Ham are interested in Olivier Giroud. It means our brother may not be starting always after all. So he can go to a mid-table club in Europe and be relevant," the former Nigeria international concludes.
Iheanacho played 20 games and scored four goals in 526 minutes of league football for Manchester City in the 2016/2017 season.
