Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has identified Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Moses as key to successful 2018 World Cup and 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaigns for Nigeria, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
The Leicester City and Chelsea stars have been mainstays for their Premier League clubs this season.
"The form of Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Moses has been inspiring and they will be key in Nigeria qualifying for the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, " former West Bromwich Albion left-back Udeze told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"This season they have been the standout performers from Nigeria although I feel Ndidi edges Moses. Ndidi arrived in January and has been playing as though he had been there forever.
"However I want to add that despite Ndidi's good form, talk of him replacing Mikel Obi is a bit premature. Mikel is still on board and has at least three or four years of top flight football in him.
"In the other leagues in Europe there are good players no doubt but these two have been wonderful.
"And yes the left-back position is where I would like to see competition when the qualifiers start. Elderson Echjejile has been okay but needs some guys to challenge him for places."
The Eagles will regroup later in the month ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, which start in June.
