Udoh Sets Triple Agenda

Udoh Sets Triple Agenda

–Enyimba striker sets 20 goals target, eye cup double with People’s Elephant

Enyimba of Aba leading scorer, Mfom Udoh is on the starting block for a fierce race for the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League top scorer’s award with Rangers forward, Ighodaro Osaguona currently in front with 15 goals.

Udoh has 12 strikes so far to his credit and remains confident he can overhaul Osaguona from summit at the close of the campaign with 20 goals.

“I’ve set a personal target of 20 goals this season and I’m confident it is a realistic target which can help me become the top scorer at the end of the season”, Udoh said.

“Yes, I’m aware Osaguona is already on 15 goals and leading the race but with 11 matches still remaining on the fixtures I’m sure I’ll catch up with him and over take him because I’m very much believe in myself and my ability.

“I also believe we can win the Glo Premier League and retain the Federation cup we won last year especially now that we’re already in the final.”

Udoh switch to Enyimba from Akwa United at the start of the season and confesses he’s at home in the commercial city.

“I’m feeling at home here, surounded by lovely people and supportive teammates which remains one of my major inspiration.

“I couldn’t be scoring without the support of my teammates, I remember when coach Kadiri Ikhana came he used to call me aside and encourage me with the word that I can do it so I should go out there and score.”

Udoh missed the cHAN cut and remembers clearly Enyimba’s early exit from the CAF Champions League, insisting returning to the big African clubs showpiece remains part of his dream this term.

“It disheartening crashing out in the early stages of the competition but we can’t be less motivated to return to the continent next year.

“To do this we must lay our hands on the league trophy. I also believe we can retain the Federation Cup thereby winning a double this time around.”
