–Enyimba forward eager to make up for league loss
Top goalscorer in the 2014 Nigeria Professional Football League and highest goalscorer in the history of the Nigerian football league, Mfon Udoh has told sl10.ng that he hopes to compensate for the league title loss to Kano Pillars by winning the Federations Cup.
His club Enyimba, takes on rivals Dolphins this weekend in the final of the 2014 Federations Cup and will see the 22-year-old Udoh come up once again against second top scorer in the just ended league season, Emem Eduok.
And Udoh has told sl10.ng that he hopes to beat Dolphins to the title, as it was the Port-Harcourt side that stopped the People’s Elephants from winning the league, when both teams played a 1-1 draw in the penultimate game of the last NPFL season.
“It was painful losing the league title to Kano Pillars and I will like to make up for it by lifting the Federations Cup against Dolphins,” he told sl10.ng.
“They were the ones who stopped us from winning the league because if we had defeated them in Port- Harcourt, we would have won the league so it will be a great pleasure to beat them this time and for us to end the season with a trophy,” Udoh posited.
The game comes up at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos today but it has no significance in determining a continental slot for the clubs, as both sides have already secured places on the continent for next season.
