Enyimba captain, Chinedu Udoji, has declared that his side must beat Oriental rivals Enugu Rangers in Sunday’s Nigeria’s Professional Football League matchday 27 to boost their title chances, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The NPFL champions who occupy the fifth position in the table are seven points behind both Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers who the first and second placed teams on the log.
With Wikki also facing a tricky fixture away to Akwa United also on Sunday in Uyo, a win would see the Peoples Elephant reduce the gap on the top two.
And the centre-back has insisted that he and his team mates will go all out for a win in the crucial fixture.
“We still believe we can successfully defend our title and to do that, it is important we beat Rangers at home on Sunday,” the former FC Abuja defender told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“This is a crucial game for us especially as Rangers are one of our eastern rivals and we are going to give our all to ensure we beat them.
“At this stage of the season, it is important to avoid mistakes and win a game like this.
“They (Rangers) will be desperate to win this game but I hope it us that will go home with the three points at the end of the day,”.
