UEFA Women’s Champions League: Uwak Crashes Out

Aaland United of Finland striker, Cynthia Uwak, is disappointed that her team could not qualify from their play-off group in a bid to reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League round of 32, after losing their last game 1-0, which condemned them to elimination.

Uwak, who has been the arrow head of her Finnish side in the league and Europe, says the experience garnered can only help the team get better as they head back to compete in the league.

“It’s sad how we lost when we started the play-offs well here in Sarajevo. We lost our last two games which meant we won’t make it past the play-off in the UEFA Women’s Champions League,” she told supersport.com from Sarajevo where the play-off took place.
