By Bamidele Boluwaji:
Uganda Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is certain he has a team that can give the Super Eagles tough time in today’s international friendly match scheduled for the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo.
Speaking on arrival in Uyo, Sredojevic expressed happiness at the opportunity given to his team to play Nigeria, saying it will be a good experience for his players to learn from the Nigerian team despite the AFCON 2013 winners’ inability to qualify for the 2015 edition.
“We are happy to be in Nigeria, to play the Super Eagles, a team that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. The match will help my players to learn from the Nigerians while we will go out to also prove to them that we are here with the determination to win”, Sredojevic said.
“We respect Nigeria, we know them very well and playing them will not be that difficult for us but it will be an exciting match for us.
Uganda came as last minute choice for the Super Eagles after Bolivia withdrew from the international friendly match billed to help Nigeria commence her preparation for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
Complete Sports can report that the match will be played at 6pm at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo today.
