Former Nigeria international, Nduka Ugbade, has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles can overcome their 2-0 home loss to South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Two second half goals, from Tokelo Rantie and substitute Percy Tau secured South Africa's first ever competitive match win against the Super Eagles.
Reacting to the defeat, Ugbade who was in the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 AFCON in Tunisia, however described the loss as a big disappointment.
"The loss was a very sad story," Ugbade told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"A lot of mistakes were made by the Eagles which must be corrected ahead of subsequent games.
"But I think the Eagles can come out of the disappointment. They shouldn't allow the defeat affect them because there are still a lot of games to be played.
