Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, turned provider for Watford as they defeated Stoke City 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, the same day Anthony Ujah scored twice in a 3-1 win for Werder Bremen at Mainz.
Ighalo, who has scored five goals so far this season, provided his first assist for skipper Troy Deeney to put Watford ahead on 43 minutes.
Then in the second half, Ighalo set up Almen Abdi in the 69th minute to put Watford 2-0. The Nigerian star, Watford’s top scorer this season, also hit the post in an eventful afternoon for him.
In the 89th minute, Ighalo went into the referee’s book.
He was later replaced by Adlene Guedioura after an outstanding performance for the Hornets.
In the Bundesliga, Ujah ended his scoreless streak to get the better of his compatriot Leon Balogun who started for Mainz and received a 62nd minute yellow card.
Ujah set Werder Bremen on their way to victory with two first-half goals in the 39th and 44th minutes.
