Super Eagles striker Anthony Ujah was on target for Werder Bremen in their 4-3 away win against Monchengladbach, in the third round of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday.
Ujah scored in the 78th minute to help Bremen progress into the next round at the expense of Monchengladbach.
The former Cologne forward who was later replaced by Felix Kroos on 79 minutes, has netted 10 goals in all competitions for Bremen this season.
Nigerian striker Jude Nworuh scored the only goal as Bnei Yehuda defeated Maccabi Netanya 1-0 away in the quarter-final of the Israeli Toto Cup Ligat Al.
Nworuh’s goal which came in the 67th minute of the encounter, sealed a 2-1 aggregate win for Bnei Yehuda. His Nigerian team-mate Dele Aiyenugba was not listed for the match.
In the English Championship, Ademola Lookman grabbed a brace for Charlton Athletic who were forced to a 2-2 draw against visiting Bolton Wanderers.
Lookman put Charlton two goals up in the first and 26th minutes. But Emile Heskey and Josh Vela drew Bolton level in the 32nd and 42nd minutes respectively.
Still in the English Championship, Sammy Ameobi was introduced for Craig Noone on 89 minutes in Cardiff City’s 3-2 home win against Brentford.
Former Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama was in goal for Lille who beat visiting Laval 1-0 in the French League Cup.
A Djibril Sidibe strike 11 minutes from time sealed the win for Lille.
And in Turkey, John Chibuike was an unused substitute for Gaziantepspor whose Turkish Cup group F match against visitors Adanaspor ended 1-1.
Former Flying Eagles defender Gbenga Arokoyo was not in Gaziantepspor’s squad for the match.
