Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah has returned to Bundesliga club Mainz 05 from Chinese Super League side Liaoning Hongyun on a three-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Mainz confirmed Ujah’s return to the club on their verified Twitter handle on Wednesday with a picture of Ujah signing the contract with an official of the German club beside him.
A statement on Mainz handle reads: “Anthony Ujah will be playing again for Mainz 05 from the second half of the season. The 27-year-old attacker from Liaoning FC, signed a three-and-a-half deal until the summer of 2021.”
Ujah is now teammates with Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun.
Ujah first signed for Mainz in 2011.
He also signed for Cologne and Werder Bremen before joining Liaoning Hongyun in 2016 where he scored 10 goals in 39 outings for the club.
