Norway-based Nigerian midfielder Usman Mohamed has boasted that the largely home-based Super Eagles B team to face Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in Uyo will not be easy customers for the reigning Europa League champions to overcome, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Mohamed, who featured for the bronze-winning U-23 team to Rio Olympics in 2016, told completesportsnigeria.com on Monday that each of the players in camp has a point to prove even though the game is just a friendly.
“For us players, we will approach the game with all seriousness and give our best despite the qualty of opposition. We know what’s at stake when we wear the green and white and this could be the chance for one or two players to get a beakthrough,” he told CSN.
The utiility midfielder who also saw a deal fall through after trialing with Barcelona B side last January claims he has put that behind him and doing his best for Sarpsborg 08 to be ready when another opportunity comes knocking.
He said: “My philosophy is to always play and give one hundred percent in each game. When the opportunity for a bigger move comes, your readiness will be known by how you played in the smaller clubs.”
The 24-year old also played for the Super Eagles at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2016 in Rwanda
