–Eagles star finally plays for his new club on Sunday
Super Eagles star, Ejike Uzoenyi has finally made his debut for his South Africa side, Mamelodi Sundowns, as they secured a 2-0 victory over Amazulu FC in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) game.
After a protracted battle to get his work permit, Uzoenyi has now spent four weeks in South Africa training with his new team but failed to make his debut until Sunday.
The CHAN MVP played the last 15 minutes of the game replacing Surprise Moriri.
Uzoenyi was expected to debut in the midweek game against Orlando Pirates but Coach Pitso Mosimane opted to leave him out as Sundowns got whipped 3-0.
The ex-Enugu Rangers ace, left out of coach Stephen Keshi 23-man AFCON 2015 qualifier list, was introduced with Sundowns 2-0 up courtesy of a Cuthbert Malajila brace.
It’s left to be seen if his 15 minute cameo will force coach Pitso Mosimane to give him his first start in their next league game.
