Uzoenyi On Target On Bidvest Wits Debut

Nigerian forward Ejike Uzoenyi scored on his debut for South African Absa Premiership club Bidvest Wits who thrashed Baroka FC 5-0 in a league game on Wednesday night.

Uzoenyi scored in the 85th minute to make it 4-0 to Bidvest, seven minutes after he came on as a substitute.

Other scorers for Bidvest were Buhle Mkhwanazi (brace) Daine Klate and Phakamani Mahlambi.

The win lifts Bidvest to top position in the league table with two games in hand.

Uzoenyi's last club before joining Bidvest was Mamelodi Sundowns where he made just six appearances without scoring a goal.

The former Rangers player was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2013 and bronze at the African Nations Championship the following year also in South Africa.
