WAFU Women’s Cup: Super Falcons, Ghana Semi-Final Clash Shifted

By James Agberebi: The semi-final match between rivals Super Falcons of Nigeria and Black Queens of Ghana on Thursday at the on-going West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Cup will now be played at 8pm Nigerian time instead of the initial 5:30pm earlier announced.
This was announced by the Ghana Football Association on their official website on Thursday on afternoon.According to GFA, the reason behind the change in the time is to make sure there are enough fans around when the Ghana, Nigeria game kicks off.

Speaking on the shift in the kick-off, Ghana coach and former Black Queens defender, Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo, says the change of time will have no effect on her team as they have conditioned themselves for any situation.

“The ladies have all have an experience playing under floodlights, so despite we having not trained under such conditions at this competition, it will have no effect.

“We have prepared well and ready to play be it during the day or in the evening,” she said.
