Arsene Wenger has identified Arsenal's inability to put away scoring chances as the reason for their elimination in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup by Watford.
A goal each from Odion Ighalo and Adlene Guedioura, gave Watford a 2-1 win at the Emirates and a place in the semi-final at Wembley.
Substitute Danny Welbeck got a goal back for Arsenal which was not enough.
In his post-match reaction, Wenger said he was baffled that despite the wave of attacks from Arsenal, they failed to get a second goal.
"It's difficult to understand how we didn't score at the end. It was a typical Cup game against a battling team.
"We did not make our possession in the final third count, but we have shown that we can respond to disappointment."
And ahead of Wednesday's Champions League second leg Round of 16 clash away to Barcelona, Wenger said their target is to secure an unlikely result.
"We want to make the impossible possible in Barcelona. It's important we go there with a strong side and fight."
