Arsene Wenger has reiterated that Arsenal still have a chance to win the English Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are 11 points adrift of leaders Leicester City with a game in hand.
They will be guests to West Ham United, who won the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Emirates.
Speaking at his pre-match press briefing, Wenger said all his side need to do is focus on their own game and hope results in other games favours them.
"Of course. Why not? As long as mathematically it is possible there is a strong possibility. They have been remarkably consistent but every game has been tight so that can go the other way as well," Wenger said.
"We know we need the perfect run and we don’t only look ahead but behind as we have a group of teams who can make it difficult for us. So we just concentrate on us and hope we finish in a strong way."
He added: "It is not only just down to the money you spend but also the quality of players you bring in and the opportunity is not only linked to money. If you look they finished strongly last season and bought players in who have given them more like Kante. You can say like Payet, he is one of the players who has had a big impact in this league."
Ahead of the lunch-time clash against West Ham, Wenger hailed the London-based side for a remarkable season so far.
"They have had a very good campaign. But if you look at their players they have a good midfield and strikers and are solid at the back. The emergence of Payet has given them a lot. They have 50 points and that is not a coincidence."
The French tactician also commented on the recent incident concerning Jack Wilshere who was questioned by the Police following an incident at a night club.
"I spoke to him. It looks to be taken out of proportion a little bit and these are matters we like to keep internal.
"There was no training session the next day, he had a day off and you can accept the players go out and when they are free over the weekend and what is positive is he works very hard. He will have a good test tomorrow night with the U-21s."
Wenger went on confirm that Arsenal are in talks with Alex Iwobi's representative about an improved contract.
He also gave the latest on the injury front.
"We are discussing, yes, to extend him. He is a real Arsenal person because he has been here since eight-years-old. We want to keep him here for longer. Overall, that is the positive, in the last two months how well and how quickly he has emerged as a player who can have a good impact."
"Aaron Ramsey might join in (West Ham game0. Mathieu Flamini is back also. Rosicky will play for the under-21s."
