Will Super Eagles Redeem Their Image Against South Africa?

Nigeria’s Super Eagles were humiliated last Saturday at the UJ Eusene Stadium, Calabar as they began their journey to the African Cup of Nations defense on a losing note.

Keshi’s team were defeated 3-2 by Congo who were only in the race after Rwanda got eliminated for fielding an eligible player in their game against the Red Devils.

After the sad loss last weekend, the Eagles are geared up for a game they MUST NOT LOSE against the Bahana Bafana of South Africa if they are to remain in the qualifying race for maroc 2015.

South Africa have never won a competitive game against the Super Eagles, with their only victory against the African champions coming during a friendly game.

Now with FIFA confirming on Tuesday afternoon that Nigeria will not be banned as they earlier threatened, do you think the defeat to Congo will spur the Eagles in Wednesday’s game against South Africa or would it put pressure on the team?

Would a Congo victory against Sudan have any impact on Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations next year?

sometimes it seems keshi dont practicalize his features/format b4 match, look at echiegile who i knw is a good bcus of the position he was as to play, his performance was not good at all, he could not pull one cross.

I find it very surprising that Nigeria continues to play without a true creative/attacking midfielder. The idea of burdening and giving players like Mikel and Ramon Azeez with the unfair responsibility of the playmaker role. both Azeez and Mikel, play defensive mid field roles at their clubs.

One of the things Nigeria need is a creative player in Midfield. it does not change the fact for the true Super Eagles supporters even if Nigeria beats SA on Wednesday. Nigeria needs a creative player in Midfield

We have a creative midfielder in iheanacho and persist with holding midfielders to perform that role, our attack will continue to struggle. Iheanacho is a born talent and should be given that chance to play that role, besides look at what sterling is doing for england. Iheanacho is far more talented than sterling….keshi should give him the chance to show himself.

Yes i believe that Super Eagles will win against South Africa today and at the same time a lot of amendments still need to be made on the team, We are lacking a creative central/attacking midfielder who will hold that possition to the core, there are options but Keshi over looks them and again in the defence, Echeijile is not fit at all, perhaps we still have Juwon on the bench. I hope the coach will do something fast.

I have no doubt that Super Eagles will defeat Bafana Bafana. All I ask Eagles to do is to be focused till the end of the match. Keshi should please start Emenike, Aluko and Oduamadi in the forward.

Yes eagle can win,but keshi should let mikel play his holding midfield role that he is used to and introduce another playmaker in the midfield like iheanacho, and people like ike uche are needed too,to sharpen the attack
