By Adeboye Amosu: African champions Wydad Casablanca are prepared to cash in on their Nigeria forward Chisom Chikatara during the January transfer window, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
Chikatara has failed to secure a starting berth in the team following his arrival from Nigeria Professional Football League club Abia Warriors last year due to persistent injuries and loss of form.
This season he barely featured under coach Houcine Amouta who led the team to win the CAF Champions League title.
“Chisom Chikatara will most likely leave Wydad in January if recent comments by coach Hosni Amouta is anything to by,” a club insider tweeted.
“The coach believes he has lacked motivation to play for the club despite efforts and opportunities given to him.
“Aside from Chikatara, Naim Aarab and Rachid Hosni could also leave soon. Aarab wants to play more regularly and he is keen to achieve that somewhere else, while Housni has an offer from a club in Qatar.”
Chikatara came into limelight after after scoring four goals for Nigeria’s home-based team at the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
