Nigeria Professional Football League All-Stars coach, Salisu Yusuf says the side can take consolation from their impressive showing in their La Liga tour despite failing to record a win in the three games they played, reports Completesportsnigeria.
Yusuf's men lost 2-1 to Valencia and Atletico Madrid and were also handed a 4-1 defeat by Malaga.
But despite the poor results, the former Enyimba and Kano Pillars tactician l refused to criticise his players, instead has praised them for their efforts.
"It would have been better if we had come out with better results in those games, but we can still be happy with the fact that we were not disgraced, "Yusuf told Completesportsnigeria.
"We played against top quality opponents and gave our best against them.
"The experience has been wonderful and I strongly believe it will rub off positively on the players.
"We must commend the League Management Company for this great initiative. It is an initiative that will improve the competitive spirit in the league."
Meanwhile, the players and the official are back from the tour. They jetted into the country at 5.30am Monday morning aboard Air Maroc.
