Zambia Coach Nyirenda Boasts: Injuries, Withdrawals Will Not Stop Our Victory In UyoZambia coach Nyirenda (L) with Completesportsnigeria.com's Kayode Ogundare in Accra

By Kayode Ogundare in Accra:

Zambia’s preparations for the must-win 2018 World Cup qualifiying match against the Super Eagles has been beset by injuries to key players and the inability of others to make it to camp but Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has said these setbacks will not deter his team from picking a win on Saturday in Uyo.

Nyirenda is encouraged by the positive energy shown by players in camp and believes this will be a big incentive ahead of the game.

“The atmosphere is so great here and there is so much positive energy in the team that I can see us beating Nigeria. The captain is here as well as Chisamba and they have been training extremely well with the rest of the team,” Nyirenda said.

All the other invited players bar Edward Chilufya who had paperwork issues to sort out with his club and the injured duo of Emmanuel Banda and Brian Mwila who have been replaced, Nyirenda is satisfied with the personnel he has to work with.

He said: “Preparations are going on well and there is so much oneness and love among the players and technical bench. We are all focused towards achieving that common goal of winning the match.”

The team flew into Abuja on Wednesday morning where striker Patson Daka is expected to join them before they move to Uyo, venue of Saturday’s match.

The coach, who has seen a remarkable turnaround in the World Cup qualifying fortunes of Zambia claims he’s unfazed by the absence of Chilufya but expressed hope that Daka will be fit enough for the game.

“Edward’s absence is just a minor setback and will not derail our plans that much because we have enough manpower to fill the vacuum and Patson is a fighter I am positive he will pass the fitness test before the match on Saturday,” Nyirenda said.

Patson’s Austria club, Lierfering FC reportedly delayed his release, opting to assess him themselves before he could be allowed to join the Chipolopolo.

lol. We’ll wait and see after 90minutes.This boasting and braggadocio dont win matches. As good as mine game is,it could be counter productive, especially for the youngsters in the Zambian team. The pressure in delivering against Nigeria could weigh them down on the D-day.This is a fact the coach should realise, rather than being boastful.Anything could happen few seconds to the match. One thing is sure,Super Eagles will play a good game!Best of luck, guys!

Mind games? This could backfire dangerously, but who cares? His brainwashed lads would troop into the field with the hope of outplaying Nigeria. They get jittery as the SEs are a hard nut to crack. It suddenly dawns on them that their coach is a false prophet. The Eagles fire in one goal and the hapless Zambians go into panic mood. WHAT’S HAPPENING? Their anxiety escalates further more. The SEs maintain a deaf and dumb mien and fire in another goal. This time, Igalo fights hard and hides his ‘THANK YOU JESUS’ shirt, knowing that a FIFA fine of $30K dangles over the head of the team. Who knows whether the NFF would deduct it upfront from their alawi? By now there is real wahala in the Zambian camp. They resort to dirty tricks, the kinds their coach had hammered into their bones. Some begin to dive dangerously in the Nigerian 18 yard box. The referee flashes yellow cards, more yellow cards and then red cards. The Eagles, still deaf and dumb, step up their acts, and ended by giving the Zambians a “C” treatment. Post match, the Zambian coach and players suddenly become dumb, babbling in incomprehensible speech – “key players bla bla bla, injuries… blablabla, last minute…bla…plan change bla bla bla… ad infinitum.” TORY QUENCH.

This boastful Nyirenda never knew nothing yet. Is it these small boys who play like primary school boys that he is making all these boasts for? Will somebody please help me to tell him to shut his mouth, and stop all these his malaria dreams of beating the super eagles he has been having, lest he have a heart-attack after the game on Saturday. As far as I am concerned the world cup ticket to Russia is already sealed up, as the eagles are already there. There is therefore no vacancy for any other team from this group.

It is Nigeria 4 vs Zambia 0!!! Nigeria will claim a double over them and Algeria. Nigeria ‘s qualification will be in grand style with a game to spare. Zambia vs Cameroon and Algeria vs Nigeria in Constantine will be inconsequential.

Those who withdrew from the camp are the smartest, sharp guys. They are simply running away from disgrace. They can not come and go and allow the merciless Super Eagles to mesmerize them. Nigeria 5 VS ZAMBIA 1
