First Deepwater coach Shola Shomala has predicted that FirstBank will be tough as they face each other in the final of the 2017 Zenith Women's Basketball League final at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
First Deepwater defeated Dolphins 70-57 in the semi-final on Thursday to scale through to the final while former champions FirstBank defeated IGP Queens 90-63 points to qualify.
Shomala, a former national team player, reckoned that the Elephant Girls are not going to be easy in any way.
"This is a worthy final, I must confess because the two teams in the final are the best we have in Nigeria when it comes to women's basketball, so playing FirstBank will be tough but there is one thing I believe, you must show determination in anything you want to achieve and that is what my players are having as an asset," Shomala told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"When you talk about motivation, my players are well motivated and I am sure they will give their best.
"The standard of women's basketball is high with the performance of the players I have seen in this league and I am highly impressed.
Meanwhile, in the Zenith Women's Basketball League All Star game was decided Friday evening at the indoor sport hall, Team B defeated Team A 80-72 points as Delta Force star, Esther Igben, emerged the Most Valuable Player.
